Covid-19
Protecting you and our staff
All Care Connect staff have access to regular workforce testing and the COVID-19 vaccination as part of the community and home-care workforce in Jersey. Any member of staff who reports symptoms of coronavirus would be asked to isolate straight away and contact the helpline to be tested. They would not be asked to work until a negative test result has been received and they are in optimal health.
All contacts would be subject to testing and isolation according to the current Government of Jersey COVID-19 guidelines.
Our team all wear scrub type uniforms which are laundered at 6o degrees every day. They will enter your home wearing gloves, an apron, and a face mask which will remain in place whilst in your home and will be removed on leaving.
Where our team provides cover within a provider environment such as a care home, the member of staff will enter the care home and be provided with the appropriate PPE required for each shift they work. If any of our team is going to work in an environment where there is a client who has tested positive for COVID-19, they would be immediately supplied with higher grade PPE to use and are fully trained in how to use it.
All of our team are required to follow the standard procedures put in place by Care Connect or the healthcare provider with regard to the donning, doffing, and disposal of PPE.
Whilst the movement of our people between health and social care provider organisations is currently against local best practice guidance, we would try to accommodate requests for temporary cover
by allocating the same person or team during COVID-19. This will significantly reduce the risk of contracting or transferring the virus.
